1) Preheat & Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a 9×13‑inch baking pan (or line with parchment paper).
2) Cream Butter & Sugar
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy — about 3–4 minutes.
3) Add Eggs & Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4) Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add it to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
5) Add White Chocolate (Optional)
Fold in white chocolate chips if using — they melt into sweet pockets as the cake bakes.
6) Bake
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

While the cake cools, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
