Garlic Butter Shrimp Recipe
Ingredients
-
1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
3–4 tbsp unsalted butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional for a little heat)
-
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
-
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
-
Prep the shrimp:
-
Pat shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure they sear nicely.
-
-
Cook the shrimp:
-
In a large skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
-
Add shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and optional paprika/chili flakes.
-
Cook 2–3 minutes per side, until shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
-
-
Make garlic butter:
-
In the same skillet, add remaining butter and minced garlic.
-
Sauté 30–60 seconds until fragrant (don’t burn the garlic!).
-
-
Combine:
-
Return shrimp to the skillet and toss in garlic butter.
-
Add lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley. Mix well.
-
-
Serve:
-
Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter.
-
💡 Tips:
-
Don’t overcook the shrimp—they cook very quickly and can become rubbery.
-
Add a splash of white wine while cooking the garlic for extra depth of flavor.
-
Can also be made in one pan alongside vegetables like asparagus or spinach for a quick meal.
If you want, I can also give a one-pan garlic butter shrimp and pasta version that’s ready in 20 minutes.
Do you want me to share that version?
