Homemade Apple Butter
Ingredients

4–5 lbs apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)

1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

½ cup brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp nutmeg

¼ tsp cloves (optional)

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ cup apple cider or water
Instructions

Cook the apples

Place chopped apples and apple cider (or water) in a large pot or slow cooker.

Cook over low heat 1–2 hours, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft.

Blend & season

Use an immersion blender or regular blender to puree until smooth.

Stir in sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and vanilla.

Simmer until thick

Cook over low heat 1–2 more hours, stirring frequently, until thick and spreadable.
