Classic Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp salt

3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
Optional add-ins:

1 cup raisins or chocolate chips

½ cup chopped nuts
Instructions

Preheat oven
Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. -
Cream butter & sugars
Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. -
Add wet ingredients
Mix in eggs one at a time, then vanilla. -
Combine dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. -
Make dough
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
Stir in oats and any add-ins. -
Bake
Scoop 2-tbsp portions onto baking sheet.
Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. -
Cool
Let cool on pan 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
Tips for Perfect Oatmeal Cookies
