Ingredients
Dough
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp oil or melted butter
- 1 egg
Filling (choose one)
- Cheese (mozzarella, cheddar)
- Cooked minced beef or chicken
- Spiced potatoes
- Veggies + cheese
Topping (optional)
- Egg wash (1 egg + 1 tbsp milk)
- Sesame or black seeds
Instructions
1. Make the dough
- Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Rest 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add egg, oil/butter, salt, and flour.
- Knead 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
- Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
2. Shape & stuff
- Punch down dough and divide into equal balls.
- Flatten each ball, add filling in the center.
- Seal edges well and shape into rolls.
3. Second rise
- Place rolls seam-side down on a tray.
- Cover and rest 20–30 minutes.
4. Bake
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle seeds.
- Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 18–22 minutes until golden.
5. Finish
- Brush with butter while hot for extra softness.
Tips for Extra Fluffiness
- Don’t overfill—sealing is easier.
- Warm (not hot) milk helps yeast.
- Let rolls cool slightly before eating.
