🌮 Homemade Doritos-Style Chips (Air Fryer)
Ingredients
-
6 small corn tortillas
-
1–2 tablespoons olive oil (or spray oil)
Cheesy seasoning (classic nacho-style):
-
1 tablespoon powdered cheese (or finely grated Parmesan, blended)
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon onion powder
-
¼ teaspoon chili powder
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
Optional: pinch of sugar or cayenne for heat
Instructions
1. Cut the tortillas
-
Stack tortillas and cut into triangle chip shapes.
2. Oil the chips
-
Lightly brush or spray the tortilla pieces with olive oil.
3. Season
-
Mix all seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
-
Sprinkle evenly over both sides of the tortillas.
4. Air fry
-
Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
-
Place chips in a single layer (work in batches).
-
Air fry for 4–6 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.
5. Cool & crunch
-
Let chips cool for 2–3 minutes — they get crunchier as they cool.
🌶️ Flavor Variations
-
Cool Ranch-Style: add dried dill + parsley + a little powdered buttermilk
-
Spicy: add extra chili powder or smoked paprika
-
Extra Cheesy: toss chips with a little more cheese powder right after cooking
💡 Tips
-
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer or they won’t crisp properly.
-
If chips brown too fast, lower heat slightly and cook a bit longer.
-
Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
If you want, I can also give you a Flamin’ Hot–style seasoning, a Cool Ranch version, or a fully dairy-free option 🌶️😄
