Ingredients
Meat sauce

2 tbsp olive oil

1 onion (chopped)

2 cloves garlic (minced)

500 g / 1 lb ground beef (or half beef, half pork)

1 can crushed tomatoes

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

Salt & pepper
Cheese layer

1½ cups ricotta cheese

1 egg
-
1 cup grated mozzarella
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan

Lasagna sheets (regular or no-boil)

Extra mozzarella for topping
Instructions

Make the sauce

Heat oil, sauté onion until soft.

Add garlic and meat; cook until browned.

Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs, salt & pepper.

Simmer 15–20 minutes.

Prepare cheese mixture

Mix ricotta, egg, mozzarella, and Parmesan.

Assemble (oven 180°C / 350°F)

Spread a thin layer of sauce in a baking dish.

Layer: lasagna sheets → meat sauce → ricotta mix.

Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and mozzarella on top.

Bake

Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.

Uncover and bake 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Let sit 10–15 minutes before cutting.

If using dry sheets, make sure sauce fully covers them.
